January on Wolfmans Cult Film Blog is to be dedicated to that wonderful movie genre of science fiction. So whether it will be spaceships traveling to distant worlds, killer aliens from Mars, time travel, quantum physics or just a man dressed in a rubber blob suit. There’s sure to be something for everyone.
I will be dropping into some fun, very likely to be cheesy, B-movies from many decades. Films that somehow managed to escape my hairy clutches in the video stores. Also I will revisit a few stone cold sci-fi classics, hopefully introducing one or two to my children. Plus looking forward to re-watching a few of my top sci-fi favourites along the way whilst discovering some hidden gems I’ve never seen or even heard of.
There will also be a return of those dashing lads, The Video Store Action Heroes. When the four movie nerds go down memory lane recalling films from the rental days of video cassettes. This time the subject is NON blockbuster Science Fiction movies, so fits in very nicely. Should be sometime mid to end of January. Be sure to tune in that.
Feel free to join me on my rocket ship hurtling through the galaxy into the future of the year 2019 and discovering parts unknown! Hope to see you, keep having fun with movies, all the best. Mikey Wolf.
And to close us out, the words of Yuri Gagarin describing our world from afar.
“What beauty. I saw clouds and their light shadows on the distant dear earth…. The water looked like darkish, slightly gleaming spots….
When I watched the horizon, I saw the abrupt, contrasting transition from the earth’s light-colored surface to the absolutely black sky. I enjoyed the rich color spectrum of the earth. It is surrounded by a light blue aureole that gradually darkens, becoming turquoise, dark blue, violet, and finally coal black.”
Can’t wait for this! Love your official NASA photo. Did you ever get close to the moon and howl at it? 🙂

I certainly did. NASA didn’t want me to go because they knew I’d have to scent the flagpole but hey whos watching on the Moon for pete’s sake! You can’t fight instinct!

Great idea. Love the fifties output in the genre the best I suppose but so many others from Planet of the Apes to little gems like Silent Running. Have fun and might even join in on occasion.

Even though it’s almost over with, for me your sci-fi month is still forthcoming, so I’m looking forward to it, and seeing how many of your favorites match up with mine. I’d offer a few recommendations, but in the real world, I think I’m a little late!
As for that photo, how about: ‘An American Werewolf on Moonbase Alpha’!

Haha yes you might be a tad late but that’s no bad thing! I’ve been boring everyone to death with my sci-fi challenge of posting everyday. One more and an end of the month wrap up to go then I’m having a few days off before settling back into the normal pace.
An American Werewolf on Moonbase Alpha’! haha now that’s a film I wanna see. 🙂
