Communications officer Lieutenant Uhura (Nichelle Nichols) not only could translate the language of thousands of different alien dialects, she also wore the most wonderful shortest skirts in the universe. Well she did have the most delectable thighs for it. And she drove this young wolf cub wild!
But wait before I turn this into my teenage fantasy and a dribble-fest reminisce. Please let me reassure you that not only was Uhura an important part of the USS Enterprise with her incredible skill set of linguistics, cryptography, and philology. This sexy black woman, Nyota Uhura, kicked ass. Breaking down prejudices in the backwards world of the 60s as part of the fantastic multicultural Star Trek crew. The future was here at last and she was just wonderful.
Not content with being one of the first African ladies to appear as a major part of television and directly a role model to millions. She also gets credited for one of the earliest, especially on mainstream US TV, interracial kisses. That iconic moment Uruha and Captain James T Kirk (William Shatner) got to embrace for a smooch on the 1968 episode “Plato’s Stepchildren“. Yeah the story might of forced them to do it but we all know these two had hidden desire trying to burst it’s way out.
There was one slight odd thing to Uhura which everyone onboard had noted but wouldn’t dare bring it up. An each to their own, kind of thing. When she left to have some down time on the holodeck she’d always return to the same time? 1974 Los Angeles, California. Going by the name Dorinda, she loved nothing more than relaxing, pimping out her harem of girls and being chased down by bounty hunter Trunk Turner!
Before she had join the USS Enterprise she’d danced her way through musical theatre. Was a singer, a dancer and all round entertainer. Here she is looking dynamite modeling some crazy thigh high boots and well, just hanging out doing lounge stuff. Meow.
Later on Uhura would take on a few different forms, one as an animated seventies version of herself and another as Zoe Saldana.
Well I wasn’t the only guy who’s heart was sent a flutter with those walnut crushing thighs and those drop dead gorgeous eyes. One President Barack Obama also had a crush on Uhura.
Not only that, she’d received a message from Martin Luther King Jr after she had thought about leaving the Star Trek series after the first season, telling her.
“You are our image of where we’re going, you’re 300 years from now, and that means that’s where we are and it takes place now. Keep doing what you’re doing, you are our inspiration.”
“Don’t you understand for the first time we’re seen as we should be seen. You don’t have a black role. You have an equal role!”
The rest they say is history and Lieutenant Nichelle Uhura Nichols has received her coveted Wolfman’s Hot Ladies Of Sci-Fi Award.
Love it. Nichelle is awesome. Uhura is badass and a real role model. I love how she has a bit of a crush on Spock for a bit in season 1.
Happy to find another fan of Truck Turner too! When I first saw her in that my jaw dropped due to her filthy language and coldness. In my opinion Nichelle should have won awards for her performances in Trek and Truck.

I hope the lack of awards for Truck Turner and Star Trek are made up with her Wolfman’s Hot Ladies Of Sci-Fi Award sat proudly on her mantelpiece 🙂
Is a shame she didn’t make more movies through the seventies. Was great to see her totally against typecast but would of loved to have seen more.
It does look really bad but I do fancy seeing her in The Supernaturals (1986) where she plays an army sergeant having to fight a bunch of dead zombie soldiers. It’s on YT but yeah! ummm maybe one day! lol.

I’m sure she would be proud. Supernaturals is so bad it’s good lol. I agree that she should have made more flicks in the 70’s, she was awesome in Truck Turner.

Great pick to feature. Classy lady. When it comes to the world of Star Trek she’s tops though I did have a thing for Yeoman Rand. 🙂

Oh yes the girl with the weaved beehive. Yes she was lovely. It always makes me smile when you spot recurring characters pop up when watching it.

Heh, I always got a chuckle going at Kirk’s sleazy antics because I felt Lieutenant Uhura would have bounced a space quarter off her thigh and hit Shatner in the eye with it if he tried anything, lol. Well, Plato’s Stepchildren’s forced smooch aside, of course.

hahah bounced a space quarter of them lol…
The reason I love her so. Those killer thighs!!
Oh my. Calm down wolfie, pours bucket of ice water over head. But the image of Uhura feeding me walnuts as she cracks the shells with those sweetass thighs turns the ice water to steam!!

I met Nichelle at a ST convention. The nicest celebrity I’ve ever met! She was very happy when I mentioned Truck Turner … she enjoyed being nasty! 🙂

Thanks for sharing that wonderful moment. That’s amazing.
Nichelle was nasty and gets all the best lines in that film. 🙂
“We call her Turnpike, cuz you gotta pay to get on and pay to get off!”
“Her clients call her Colonel Sanders because she’s finger lickin’ good.” LOL

Wow, I never knew that Martin Luther King Jr. wrote to her, and such an incredible message, too! That really warmed my heart. 🙂

That’s the beauty of the different strokes for different folks. The spice of life is we all have different tastes. I always loved her as a teen as she was different and kinda of spicy, unique. I’m sure Mr Spock would have a good logical answer for it. 🙂
I’d definitely be up for my Mrs to wearing that outfit though she’d probably call me something shocking and say you gotta be kidding me!
