The Robots Have Infiltrated The World! – Music Mix Celebrating Robots From Film

Here’s a mix that I did last year which fits in quite nice with this here blog, it’s called “The Robots Have Infiltrated The World!” Featuring those wonderful metal creations and whether they are Robots, Deus Ex Machina, Automaton, Artificial Intelligence or Cybermen, Cyborg or Android , they will start out friendly and helpful and then one day rise up, destroy us all and take over our world……

I’ve always had a fascination with robots, right back to Robby The Robot in the Forbidden Planet, Daleks and Cybermen from Doctor Who, Gort from The Day The Earth Stood Still to the cute ones like Huey, Louie and Dewey from Running Silent and V.I.N.CENT and Bobby from The Black Hole. Too many to name all but throughout our childhood we have always been surrounded by machines in television and film. Even now there is so much TV centered on robots and AI. HBO’s incredible future look at one of my favourites Westworld to Channel 4’s Humans a rework of the Swedish science fiction/drama series Real Humans, to films like Alex Garland’s sublime Ex Machina. I’ve been spoilt in my love for robotrons.

I could of gone for total overload on samples for the mix but pulled my enthusiasm in a little and kept it to a minimum, still there’s a fair few which pop up. Images of samples used are at the bottom of the page if you are interested or go in blind and see if you can spot them!

The mix features a heavy tech and electronic soundtrack which has a robot machine feel. Not all the tunes are robot related but I feel they fitted in with the mood of the mix.
